The Technology Resource Center (TRC) serves the public through the acquisition and promotion of technology and livelihood skills and information for Filipinos worldwide. A government corporation attached to the Department of Science and Technology, the TRC operates as a self-sustaining institution.
Harnessing the Filipino entrepreneurial spirit
We act as a facilitator in the utilization and active exchange of ideas, information and technology to help create new jobs and livelihood opportunities as well as develop small and medium-sized businesses. Our agency explores every available means to cater to the diverse technology needs and demands of marginalized sectors, existing and prospective entrepreneurs, local government executives as well as business leaders in the countryside.

Background
In February 23, 1977 the government established the TRC in honor of its commitment to the Manila-sponsored International Conference on the Survival of Humankind, which was held a year earlier.
It was resolved in the conference that technology must play a bigger role in the economic development of ordinary citizens. Under Presidential Decree 1097, the government mandated the TRC to make technology easily accessible to the poor and readily applicable for business use.
Through the years the center remained committed to its mandate by nurturing the people's entrepreneurial aspirations with a wide range of instructional modules. Indeed, many successful entrepreneurs today trace their beginnings inside one of TRC's training rooms. Their success stories never fail to inspire TRC officers and staff to keep doing their part in nation building no matter the challenge.
